The Ōtepoti Playwrights Programme pairs three new/emerging local playwrights (18 years +) with a dramaturg to support them in the development of a playscript. We match playwrights with the best possible dramaturg available for them.
The programme is a combination of individualised support and collaborative lab sessions. Along with working with their dramaturg, playwrights will meet as a group (in line with Covid-alert regulations) for two sessions, orientation and table read. Their third draft receives a short workshop/rehearsal with a professional director and actors, followed by a public reading.
Each cycle, one playwright will be selected for further development and possible production with Prospect Park Productions.
Submissions for our 2020 Playwrights Programme cycle are open from Monday 25th May until midnight on Monday 29th June. Download the application pack below!
